Mrs. Sharon Sperley « Teacher Connection

The month of September will be a very busy one for our class.  We will be strengthening our knowledge of letters and sounds as we do various activities with the featured letter of the week.  Your child will bring home a reading homework sheet once a week to practice the letters sounds and high frequency words we are studying in class. Later this month, we will send home the sight word baggies with the sight words we are working on in class.   In addition, have your child share some of the fun activities we are doing to help us learn to read.

Friday, September 10th, we will walk over to the Middle School for our AR Reading Celebration Kickoff.  It will be a fun morning.  Our Big Book for reading this week,   From Head to Toe by Eric Carle , is an AR book and every child will have an opportunity to take an AR test on this book and begin earning his/her  AR points.

Our Founder’s Day Festival is on Friday, September 17th at the high School football field from 5-9 pm.  We hope to see many of you at this fun event.  If you volunteered to help us, we will be sending you a reminder of the time you planned to help at our booth.  Watch your child’s agenda planner for this information.

This month we will also be learning about our 5 senses, apples, and the season of fall.  As you can see we are very busy learning about the world around us.

If you have any questions, please give us a call.
